Meaning

Chu was one of the major states during China's Spring and Autumn period (770–476 BCE) and Warring States period (475–221 BCE). Located in the Yangtze River region (modern Hubei, Hunan), Chu was known for its distinct culture, shamanic traditions, and literary contributions. It was eventually conquered by Qin in 223 BCE.

Usage
